- Siedman building room 1008
The GVSU Criminal Justice Students' Association partners with GVSU Pals Student Mentoring program to host an annual event called, "Those Who Protect Us.” This is our seventh year hosting this event. Our objective is to provide at risk with the opportunity to correct misperceptions that they may have regarding law enforcement and public safety officials. We value the importance of educating children about what the criminal justice professionals do in their community in order to keep them safe from harm.
This event provides a safe and welcoming environment in which kids can learn and engage in educational activities. These kids are given the the opportunity to foster positive relationships with the safety figures in the community, which they may not have if it wasn’t for this program. We are thankful for the support from the community and Grand Valley State University, without this support we wouldn’t be able to host this year after year.
