| Contributions to the Grand Valley Fund helped assist over 9,000 students with need-based and merit-based scholarships in the past year, an increase of 4% over the previous year. |

| 10,491 students helped make a difference in their communities last year through the university’s service learning programs and through the Community Service Learning Center, logging 62,768 service learning and community service hours. |

| The Grand Valley Fund helped expand counseling services by 10% this year to more fully support Grand Valley’s thousands of students navigating through their college years and becoming successful, happy adults. |

Scholarships
As requests for assistance continue to grow, the Grand Valley Fund plays an increasingly important role in support for need-based and merit-based scholarships. The Grand Valley Fund helps make it possible for more than 80% of Grand Valley students to receive some type of financial support.
Internships
Research shows that students who participate in internships are more likely to get a career related job after graduation. The Grand Valley Fund supports students’ growing demand for internships. Funding is needed to expand outreach to organizations that can provide Grand Valley students with these experiential educational opportunities.
Lab Equipment
As technology continues to evolve, the university has an ongoing need for the latest equipment to be sure our graduates have state-of-the-art learning facilities. This year the Grand Valley Fund will allow for updates to lab equipment and to software and database subscriptions.
Advising
Advisors help teach students critical planning skills. This year, the Grand Valley Fund will support MAP-Works, an innovative web-based program that helps first and second year students stay on track with academics and goals towards a timely graduation.
Service Learning
Thousands of civically engaged Grand Valley students have given back to their communities through service learning initiatives and demand for opportunities continues to grow. With additional support from the Grand Valley Fund, many more can expand their social and professional networks, and gain a deeper understanding of how to be committed to a life of community service.
