Mission:
The Division of Student Services connects students with opportunities to be enlightened, engaged and responsible lifelong learners, and productive global citizens.
Welcome to the Division of Student Services! Our division provides programs, services, and environments that enhance the personal, social, and intellectual growth of undergraduate and graduate students at the University.
Our staff believes positive growth and development occur best for students when in-class and out-of-class experiences are intentional and connected. We enhance student success through co-curricular learning opportunities that challenge, engage, and support students in an environment which encourages them to stretch beyond their comfort zones – this is the way real learning occurs.
We provide a wide range of programs and services that enhance learning in critical thinking, communication, self awareness, relationships, diversity, membership & leadership, citizenship, and sustainability. These co-curricular offerings and support services target undergraduate and graduate students, residential and commuter students, traditional and nontraditional age students, as well as full-time and part-time students at Grand Valley’s campuses and regional centers.
Thank you for visiting our web page – I hope it provides you with useful information about Student Services. More importantly, please stop by our offices to introduce yourself – we want to meet you in person which is more our style.
Cordially,
H. Bart Merkle, Ed.D.
Vice Provost for Student Affairs
& Dean of Students
