Grand Valley State University Women's Center
We invite you to engage with us!
Located in Russel H. Kirkhof Center (down the hallway near the Lobby Shop), there are numerous ways to get involved with the Women’s Center:
- Attend one of our events. With numerous and diverse events each year, there are many opportunities to learn more about issues that affect women and gender justice. Learn more about our annual programs.
- Resources and Support. Check out our resources, including our Student Food Pantry, Scholarship Opportunities, and who to contact to report a sexual assault.
- Service, Leadership, and Activism. Whether you’re interested in our Ambassadors Feminist Leadership Program, service learning through Activate, or an internship with the Women’s Center, there are lots of ways to engage and bring classroom material to life.
- Our physical space. Open to everyone of all gender Identities, people use our Center to study, read our collection of books and magazines, or just relax between classes. From our comfy chairs and couches to the warm fireplace, check out our virtual tour to get a glimpse of our location and then come check us out in person.
Following the tragedy in Orlando, the Social Justice Centers under the Division of Inclusion and Equity stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ and Latinx communities, who are particularly impacted. LGBTQ people, particularly queer people of color, experience multiple forms of marginalization and vulnerability, and as Lakers, we are committed to working toward a more just and inclusive world for all. The staff in our Centers are here and available to support both students who identify within these impacted communities as well as allies. Students in need of resources or support can reach to any of the Social Justice Centers and/or the University Counseling Center.
