Financial Support and Scholarships

The Women's Center wants to support students in their educational pursuits. Below are two scholarships that may be of interest to students. If you do not qualify for either scholarship, the Women's Center works with the Office of Financial Aid to connect students to resources.

The Women's Center Non-traditional Student Scholarship

The GVSU Women's Center Non-traditional Student Scholarship Committee will select one or more recipients for this scholarship. The scholarship is designed to benefit non-traditional students with unique pathways to education including child/family responsibilities, re-entry to college after some significant time away, or exceptional life circumstances due to employment or other challenges.

The award, a stipend equivalent to three credit hours of in-state tuition, must be used at GVSU by the end of the semester following the award.

Deadlines are July 31 for fall semester and November 15 for winter semester. Applicants should contact the Women's Center at 331-2748 or by email, womenctr@gvsu.edu to apply. Prior to applying, please be sure that you have filled out your FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Other Scholarship Opportunities:

  • The ATHENA Scholarship is for women 30 years old or older.

  • Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarship. Applicant must be a woman who has served or is serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard.
